AVIANCA, the acronym of Aerovías del Continente Americano, is the largest airline in Colombia. It was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Bogotá.
It's the second oldest airline in the world and the oldest when it comes to uninterrupted operations.
It has the second largest fleet in South America. With more than 200 aircraft, it flies to more than 100 destinations in 26 countries in South America and Europe and operates more than 5,000 flights a week.
Its hubs are located at Bogota Airport (Colombia), San Salvador Airport (El Salvador) and Lima Airport (Peru). From these three hubs it operates scheduled and chartered flights to North America, Central America, the Caribbean, South America and Europe.

Baggage Allowance
Cabin baggage: AVIANCA accepts one bag of up to 10 kilos to be placed in the overhead locker. The maximum dimensions are 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm. It also allows one additional item, such as a laptop case, a backpack or a handbag, which must be placed underneath the seat. Larger or heavier bags will incur a surcharge.
Checked baggage: hold bags must not exceed 158 centimetres each, equivalent to the sum of the outer dimensions (height + length + width). The number of bags allowed depends on the region which passengers are flying to or from. Extra bags may be checked in via the Logitravel website or upon arrival at the airport.
