“Beautiful experience”

A stunning hotel, we have been for two night with friends and it was a wonderful experience. Food was excellent and the staff was very friendly.

The hotel aesthetically is a 5 star hotel, very nice to the eye. However was dissapointed with the price of drinks as even though your full board you have to buy drinks throughout the day and at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is free. However the price of drinks isn’t liquidated and rather very expensive. For a small glass bottle of sprite is €3.40-80 so between me and my partner at the end of a 7 day holiday we would have spent about €105 and theirs not including drinks throughout the day. It’s a bit annoying when you go down the road to the locals supermarket and a 2 Litre bottle of sprite is €2.50. I understand the hotel is a business but there’s right ways to profit and this isn’t the right way. The quality of food was very good however it was very repetitive same foods most nights and when they did change it was just instead of chicken curry it would be the same curry just beef meat instead. So a bit of a let down. Not a variety for kids at all. Just chips and pasta and the occasional pizza. However everything else was perfect hotel room was brilliant. The pools were very nice and can’t complain about the cleanliness around the pools and the hotel itself.

Where do I start? We landed at 9:30pm and didn’t arrive at the hotel until 11:58pm. The hotel did provide some salad and food for the children on arrival, which was appreciated. We booked full board, but still had to pay extra for drinks, which felt ridiculous considering how much this holiday cost for our family of 7 (3 adults and 4 children aged 17, 17, 13, and 12). We paid extra for a swim-up pool room, but honestly it wasn’t worth the money. This hotel seems more focused on getting extra money from guests than providing a true 5-star experience. Some staff members were lovely, but others were quite unhelpful and often passed questions from one person to another instead of assisting properly. Breakfast was probably the best part of the stay, although on the last day my daughter was given milk for her porridge that had clearly gone off, despite eating porridge most mornings without issue. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and this is honestly the first holiday where I couldn’t wait to get home because my back was in so much pain. The hotel also clearly treats “VIP” guests differently — you can tell by the orange towels. They receive far more extras and better treatment than standard guests, despite this holiday already being very expensive. A lot of the photos people post online seem to show VIP rooms and extras that regular guests simply do not get. We had two rooms and didn’t receive any of those touches. Another issue was being charged for bottled water in the room without being told there would be an extra charge until checkout. Checkout is at 12pm, but our flight wasn’t until 9:30pm and we didn’t leave the hotel until 7pm. We were then told we would have to pay extra for food after checkout, which was disappointing considering the cost of the holiday. In the end, we chose to eat out instead, and honestly we found a lovely local restaurant where the food was far better than the hotel food anyway. We ended up eating out most days because the hotel food was very poor. At dinner, the waiters constantly rushed you to pay for water immediately, and I also noticed that some glasses smelled unpleasant. The weather was lovely, thankfully, but overall this hotel was a huge disappointment. We stayed in a 3-star hotel a few years ago that was honestly much better than this supposed 5-star resort. In my opinion, this hotel is nowhere near 5-star standard — more like a 3-star at best. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel and I would not stay with the Lopesan Group again.
