Fantastic hotel and holiday. It was our golden wedding anniversary and we wanted some sunny, sea views, a bit of shopping and a bit of peace and quiet. We got it all at the Taylot. Some reviews describe the hotel as spartan. It’s not. It’s modern, scrupulously clean and environmentally friendly. We’ve been in some east European hotels that even the Spartans would walk out of- this is not one of those. Some reviews say check in staff not the best. Wrong - everything was explained clearly to us on arrival - we never had to go back and ask any questions. Breakfasts were great, we never had to eat lunch or use the afternoon snack session even though we were all inclusive. Evening meal menu is perhaps the one area the hotel could work on. There were several local Mallorcan items but inconsistent signage and people have to be careful due to allergies etc. Tell us what the food is and let’s taste the best of Mallorca. But the highlight of the hotel is the staff. Friendly, professional and helpful. All the restaurant team so busy keeping the tables smart , our cleaner who kept the room immaculate and Hafid in the bar who never failed to smile and make our days special - a credit to the hotel .

My experience at the Talayot hotel was really good apart from the food at dinner there wasn’t many options and the eating area was really small but the holiday was made up by the man behind the bar named hafid he was really pleasant and funny he made the holiday!

We had a relaxing week at this hotel recently. We feel the only drawback to our stay was the food which we think was not of a very good standard and not 4 star level. The hotel is lovely, clean, modern in good location and staff were friendly. However the hotel could be much better if it improved the standard of the food. The buffet was not labelled well for allergy advice, in some cases not labelled at all. On a couple of nights the food was cold (chips, pasta. Rice) etc even though on a hot plate. We had stayed here before and the quality of the food had gone down since then (3 years ago). In the end we ate out 4 of the 7 nights we had booked which was unintentional and meant more money spent.

To start, we were not too happy about our transfer coach dropping us off at the end of the road and we were made to walk 150 metres to the hotel with our cases. To start, we were not too happy about our transfer coach dropping us off at the end of the road and we were made to walk 150 metres to the hotel with our cases. On arrival the reception staff were very good and they went over the tourist charge along with the dining room times and arrangements. When it came to sorting a safe we were charged twenty eight Euros for the week, which I thought was high. Our bedroom was on the third floor and had a sea view which was worth the additional cost, it had tea and coffee facilities provided along with two bottles of water in the fridge. The shower and toilet facilities were first class. When it came to dinner and breakfast there was a vast number of dishes available which were very good. The ‘Half Board’ package that we were on also provided us with wine and beers in the restaurant whilst we dined. When it came to negative points about the hotel a number of issues came to light: The food was never hot, only lukewarm unless you took it straight off the griddle, a number of the dishes were not labelled very well or not at all, so it was a guessing game. Not great if you suffer from any food allergies, as we had to ask about ‘Gluten Free’ dishes and struggled to get answers. When it came to watching the TV in our room there was five English speaking stations, but they were all News channels. The hotel seems to cater for the German and French guests when it comes to TV, but not for the British On two of the nights, there was live music which no one knew about as there was nothing mentioned in the reception area about the acts, but our biggest complaint about our stay was that a number of guests that we're ‘All Inclusive’ overdone it with the alcohol, we had to contact reception twice about the noise and swearing on the patio which was just below our room. Management did warn the couples, but they continued to consume alcohol, you would think that management would have stopped them drinking after the warning but no, the barman kept coming out with more drink until one of them collapsed and had to lie down on a sun-bed. (the said lady did not turn up for dinner that evening). I personally believe that the Talayot is not a ‘Four Star’ hotel and would class it as a ‘Three Star’ at the most. Management need to look at my negative points and address them ASAP. It's a shame, but I don’t think we will ever go back to the Talayot in the future.
