Took a trip here with my two children in late July. A really welcoming hotel with knowlegable staff who helped to explain the geography of TIgnes which, as first time travellers, we found a little confusing to begin with. The hotel is quite new; it's clean, well-appointed and well looked after by the excellent staff. There is no gym (my son was interested so might be useful to know) but there is plenty to do in the hotel grounds and nearby (badminton, tennis, petanqe etc are all available free of charge) plus the hotel has a spa with steam room, sauna and hot-tub. We had some very relaxing time as evening turned to night, chillin' in the tub with the lights and jets going, watching the incredible mountain view turn dark. During our transfer from Geneva we got to know the new chef who coincidentally was sharing our mini-bus. I have to say, he and his staff did an excellent job with breakfast and dinner throughout the week. The highlight for us was the Duck Confit with potato dauphinoise, but all the meals were tasty and hearty, which is really what you need after a full day hiking/rafting/riding etc. The rooms were quite luxurious, lovely showers and really comfy beds. We were also on the lake-view side, so I could lay on my bed and look out at the mountains, a view which never gets old. The hotel staff make this place what it is. Danny is an excellent manager and team leader, Matt knows all about the activities available (and does a mean pirate quiz), Ollie takes care of the bikes and the hotel and Sarah looked after us a the bar - she was lovely with my 13yo daughter, preparing child-friendly versions of their cocktails such as "Fun on the Beach" :) All of the families staying in the hotel (it is not large and for our week their were only six other families) were from England, which made for a very communal feel. Everybody got to know each other quite quickly and this was nice as we were able to share stories of our busy days and listen to others, so we could plan the best outings. What we all noticed about this holiday was that, as everyday was busy with activities and trips, the week seemed to last longer than one of those sitting around the pool in Spain holidays. I cannot recommend this area enough for a family who want something more from their time away together - this holiday really brought us together for some incredible memories and the staff at Hotel Tertas Lodge played a huge part in that, so thanks to them! I suspect we will be back quite soon....

Many thanks to the Alpine Elements team for a great week! Matt (Alpine Elements rep) is - very helpful and makes an effort with everybody. Amazing scenery, first class food and activities! The white water rafting and e-biking included were excellent, and the rooms very clean and well- equipped. The Alpine Elements team were all very approachable and helpful, and we were fortunate in staying there alongside a great group of other guests. Happy Bike Camp in Tignes were also a great group of MTB’ers and much enjoyed by our son….An all- round fantastic week! Thanks to the whole team!

Terras is a nice comfortable hotel run by alpine elements. Whilst good clean and hospitable it lacked the special touches you expect in a 4 start hotel. Yes there was a hot tub, sauna and steam room but no robes to go from your room in! Food was ok but nothing special and the canapés were poor at b… more

Terras is a nice comfortable hotel run by alpine elements. Whilst good clean and hospitable it lacked the special touches you expect in a 4 start hotel. Yes there was a hot tub, sauna and steam room but no robes to go from your room in! Food was ok but nothing special and the canapés were poor at best. No wine with dinner is a cost cut too far in my opinion. The walk to and from the slopes was manageable but hard at the end of the day on boots and carrying skis and poles. A small mini bus would improve this offer immeasurably. Overall acceptable but I wouldn’t return!
