“Amazing 10 nights in paradise!”

I can’t recommend this hotel enough for the price we paid and what we got was exceptional. The grounds are beautiful, never stayed in such a clean hotel, from the public toilets to all the dinning areas to the standard of our room! Hand gel available at all meal areas. Staff are so friendly and always happy to help. Party nights were great! Perfect balance between chill and fun for us. Mini bar and water filled every 2 days but can request more on the Riu app. We also requested other things such as more, towels and pillows all brought to our room in a timely manner. Lovely selection of food for an all inclusive and we enjoyed going to the other bookable restaurants! Please don’t not let the media coverage put you off me and my partner have not been ill once, we just used the hand gel and washed our hands regularly and be sensible! No stress! Fantastic holiday! We will be back! Thank you to all the staff at Karamboa!

“Boa Vista Must Stay”

First time staying at this adult only resort. It at first appears to be huge, with about 1200 rooms and is over a vast site, however, it never feels that big. First time staying at this adult only resort. It at first appears to be huge, with about 1200 rooms and is over a vast site, however, it never feels that big. There are 3 pools and 2 swim up bars all in a line by the beach. There are loads of sunbeds and we never had any problem getting a sun bed. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the staff are constantly on the go cleaning, serving and doing whatever there job role is. They are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are big, modern and clean. The buffet restaurant is excellent. I've always felt RIU hotels obviously have a model for everything and the food is no exception and is always top notch all inclusive food. They have 3 speciality restaurants, Italian, Asian and a waiter(s) served restaurant, which is the best. Spaces are limited so go on your RIU app and get them booked. We never did the evening entertainment but always appeared very well attended. My only gripe is the smoking policy. There were a few smokers around the pool areas even though I'm sure your not meant too. Obviously selfish but there you go. Another thing to be aware of is the wind. It is ALWAYS windy so make sure you get plenty of sun tan lotion on. Overall I thoroughly recommend this hotel. We're booked to go again next year. Well done RIU yet again. Loved it

We arrived looking forward to a relaxing beach break, but unfortunately the holiday did not meet expectations. While the room itself was pleasant and well‑equipped, it did not reflect the 5‑star platinum standard advertised. Anyone hoping for a restful morning should be aware that the housekeeping team begins work at 8:00am, and noise in the corridors — loud conversations, banging doors, and trolley noise on tiled floors — meant we were woken early every day. The hotel is extremely busy, with 921 rooms accommodating nearly 2,000 guests. We had not realised the scale at the time of booking, and it significantly affected the overall experience. The main buffet restaurants felt overcrowded and chaotic, and the food, although adequate, was repetitive and lacked flavour. For a destination known for salt production, seasoning was surprisingly absent. We are not fussy eaters, but we expected more from a hotel with this rating. Accessing the three alternative restaurants required booking through the Riu app, which offered very limited availability. We found ourselves setting alarms for midnight when new slots were released. The Italian and Asian venues turned out to be smaller buffet-style restaurants, while the Gourmet restaurant — the only waiter‑service option — provided the best meal of our stay. Around the pool areas, sunbeds were tightly packed and the atmosphere was noisy, so we opted for the beach instead. To find any sense of calm, we walked to the far end where the last few sunbeds were located. Even there, we were approached frequently by local vendors. While we appreciate they are earning a living, “no thank you” was often not accepted, and some walked away muttering in frustration. The cocktails were disappointing and comparable to what you might expect from a budget‑friendly destination, rather than a premium resort. We did, however, enjoy the Adult 4x4 full‑day tour, and it was reassuring to hear that other couples on the trip shared similar views about the hotel. The beach café Perola D’Chaves served excellent food and cocktails, and we returned on foot another day (approximately a 20‑minute walk). The Death Valley buggy experience with No Limits was also a highlight — very well organised and great fun. The hotel grounds were immaculate, and the spa treatments were excellent. As for the weather, it was extremely windy throughout our stay, making the sea rough and causing sand to blow constantly. Although the hotel cannot control the weather, we were told that these conditions are typical. The beaches themselves were beautiful, but overall, we found ourselves counting down the days. Speaking with other guests at the airport confirmed that many felt the same. Would we return? No.
