Day 1: Departure with destination San José. Transfer to hotel.

San José - Arenal Volcano

Day 2: Breakfast and departure to the Arenal Volcano with a stop en route to the artisan village of Sarchí, to continue on to the town of La Fortuna where we will have lunch (included) at the restaurant opposite the volcano.In the afternoon, we will visit the Tabacón Thermal Resort, including dinner. After dinner, we will head back to our hotel in Arenal. Overnight stay.

Arenal Volcano - Caño Negro Refuge and Rio Frio

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Los Chiles, a rustic town near the border with Nicaragua; from here, we board the boat to sail the Rio Frio river an explore the Caño Negro wildlife refuge, considered one of the top bird-watching spots, which doubles as habitat for a varied fauna, including sloths, different types of monkeys, and alligators, as well as the variety of typical flora of the wetlands. After the visit, return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Breakfast and departure by road to Monteverde. The route runs along Lake Arenal and starts off by climbing a steep road that glides between the hills and valleys of the Tilarán mountain range. Arrival at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to have a look around the area. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. The area is an ideal place for lovers of hiking and adventure sports. One of two activities proposed for Selvatura Park is included in today's itinerary. The first option is to leisurely stroll across the hanging bridges that span the forest streams to admire the canopy of the cloud forest and the lush vegetation. You'll also get to enjoy the view over the butterfly garden with this choice. The other option is to zipline across the canopy of this forest on a network of cables. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is one of the safest and most fascinating ways to see Costa Rica from a truly unique perspective. Rest of the day at leisure.O vernight stay at hotel.

  • If the return flights call at any points within the United States, consult the documentation necessary to make such a stopover.
  • Generally in Costa Rica the accommodation in the triple rooms have two double beds or one double and one single bed and the quadruple accommodation has two double beds.
  • A travel insurance with the following coverages is required: $50,000 in medical expenses and $2,000 in quarantine costs.
  • Check-in time at the hotel on the day of arrival depends on each establishment, but in no case will it be before 3:00 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.
