We had a great stay here! I’m surprised there’s any bad reviews on here to be honest! We arrived late, around 10pm and the check in was very quick. The staff gave us some sandwiches and fruit and advised us of all the timings for the meals. The rooms were clean and spacious. When we requested for a clean, the bedding and towels were always changed and the room was spotless. The food was great. The breakfast was a little repetitive but the food was still lovely. The lunches and dinners were brilliant. We particularly liked the Mexican and Chinese themed nights. The soft drinks were lovely. The drinks for the all inclusive were also lovely - we enjoyed lots of frozen strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas. The portions were very generous! We read lots of reviews that we would need to queue for sun beds but we didn’t at all. We were a group of 5 but never once had to queue for a sun bed, only just waited by the gate when we knew it was going to open at 9:50. There were maybe 1 or 2 people queueing for the beds. A couple of times throughout the week, we were out until the afternoon and still got a sunbed when we came back, although they usually did not have an umbrella as they were all being used at that time. We enjoyed the entertainment the nights we attended. We especially loved the cabaret night on the Monday and silent disco on the Sunday! There’s lots of bars and pubs nearby if we wanted to try something else too. Most days and nights, there was a man who set up a stall selling bags and a lady selling jewellery which was nice! We were told conflicting information about the pool tables being open. Staff told us it closed after dinner but then saw somebody using it at 10pm. We used the luggage storage room with the adjoining showers on our last day which was really helpful and clean! Overall, we had a really lovely time

Hotel olid: Location - up a big hill, I was pregnant at time of attending and my mum has MS, however we did just use electric scooters which were located very close to the hotel. (Up a small hill)… however wouldn’t depend on these as they were often out of charge and weren’t always reliable. Some nice food places to eat close by, a must go to is magica…an amazing Italian restaurant just down the road! Quite a few shops around, short walks to them and the beach front is about a ten min walk from the hotel. Along the beach front is lots of different shops and beauty salons to spoil yourself if you desire! I’d recommend happy feet if so :)) Facilities - (family suite) lovely room, spacious. Air con VERY annoying, have to have all windows & doors shut for it to work and was very temperamental. It never actually made the big room feel cool like it had good air con, however we did survive! The smaller room as part of the family suite tended to be a lot cooler with air con? So not sure what the script is with that. Shower very nice and had a jacuzzi in the bedroom which was lush! I mean normally I wouldn’t bother with something like that but being pregnant it was nice to relax in a warm bath on holiday - but because the air con didn’t work so great in that room, it defo made it a little more daunting knowing you were gonna sweat lots after a bath! But it fits 2 people :) Sunloungers - every holiday is a race for sunbeds, but this hotel was good as it had others a level above and away from the pool aswell where you could still see kids. People lining up from 8.30am when it didn’t open till 10am. But sometimes still some beds left. Cleaning of rooms - this section deserved its own. I always feel bad for cleaners on holiday because they are working in such heat and I did have some compassion for them. However the room was never kept up to good standard by them and was cleaned differently each day, usually just topping up towels and toilet roll but sometimes they didn’t even make the bed, which is the last thing you want to be doing when ur on your holiday. We also got an extra card for room to swipe in & out and they seemed to always take this? No idea why! But it was very annoying going to reception to get new ones constantly. Kids club / teen club - if you want your kids to be entertained, this is NOT the hotel for you! The kids club looks like it is for like baby to age (5)ish, tiny chairs etc, like a nursery type of thing.. and is more like a babysitting creche… we did walk down to see if children fancied it (age 10 & 6) however even they felt it was very babyish and was more of a place to be looked after. I asked what was offered and women said they can make bracelets paint, and play… so no routine or fun activities really… there was one child in it when we went to see it. The teen club as advertised was NEVER open, and children were never asked once if they wanted to go/attend any activities to even try and get some attendance at the teen club.. we did however go and walk down to look at where it was however it looked very different to what is advertised and is honestly a waste of space and resource IMO. Entertainment team - I mean, if you’re going somewhere to be entertained I can honestly say the entertainment during the day is very poor. It was the same thing every day, same dances, same staff looking unhappy just dancing not getting anyone involved. We weren’t even asked once if we wanted to do anything. There was one occasion we participated in the cocktail making, and it put us off engaging again as they had no energy about them. The entertainment at night is pretty awful aswell. It’s not the type of hotel that has extravagant acts on and some of the acts are questionable as if they’ve just pulled someone in off the street. The entertainment was always finished by 10pm aswell which then leaves you with a few hours with nothing to do - it only really lasted 1-1.5h max. And there were kids discos which played the same music every night and kids not not wanna engage (maybe because they were slightly older) Food - very basic options. Hotdogs were delish (very kids like but I liked it)… felt very repetitive, some themed nights were great but most nights it seemed meals were chucked together and didn’t really go?! Even though we were all inclusive - You do expect to be bored of food after Hotel after a 10 night stay though! Breakfast made amazing pancakes! Honestly the best! The only downfall was if you were down for brekkie after ten they would stop making them when breakfast didn’t finish till 10:30. So you felt quite rushed for time in morning to make it down for 9.30ish to make sure pancakes were there… good selection of breakfast foods and the bacon is a bit weird…but apparently it’s Spanish? They did have chefs who would make omelettes as requested which was nice for it being a 3*. Pudding selections were great however same stuff most days which again gets boring after a while.

“Poor daytime entertainment and drinks”

Room was lovely, the staff work so hard except the daytime entertainment staff, they sometimes announce an activity but don't actively ask guests if they would like to play, then play amongst themselves and the lifeguard. Worst entertainers ever and let the team down. The drinks were pretty bad... more

Room was lovely, the staff work so hard except the daytime entertainment staff, they sometimes announce an activity but don't actively ask guests if they would like to play, then play amongst themselves and the lifeguard. Worst entertainers ever and let the team down. The drinks were pretty bad, the mixers were like syrup and absolutely awful, this needs addressing Food was edible but it you have an allergy or vegan then it's not for you.

“Overall average, nothing special”

Room very spacious, clean on arrival, bathroom in my opinion needs updating and better shower heads. Shower going hot and cold so never had just a hot shower always went cold for at least 5 minutes We stayed for 7 days and our room was not cleaned at all during our stay, only had fresh towels once. When I asked reception about cleaning the room it was only cleaned on request by us, but we were not aware of that. Pool areas okay, plenty of sun-beds always got one every day. Throughout the day it got messy around the sun-beds with cups, plates ect. I understand people should put them on the trolleys provided for dirty cups and plates but some didn’t, maybe have someone go round and collect throughout the day so can keep it clean and tidy. Sun-beds cleaned every night so ensure clean for next day. Snack bar good food throughout the day and drinks good, could have done with a bar at the main pool in my opinion as always busy. All inclusive food - good. Fajitas we had one night were lovely, rest of nights were also good. Overall a good week away, would probably not return.
