“Nice place but not suitable for families”

We stayed in a Villa (115) booked through air bnb for a week on 26th March. The villa itself was dated and in need of some tlc and a good clean. The location of the complex is great, although we were woken every night between 3.30 and 4.15 by the bins being emptied at the back. The complex is clean and tidy although, someone had a nose bleed or similar and left drops of blood from the front entrance through to the pool area and it was there for at least 2 days! And as we left, the front door had been smashed in! The pool is heated so lovely and warm, it is salt water but it's not too salty at all. The complex is mainly made up of residents, that all have thier own spots by the pool. There was plenty of sunbeds but, non residents have to pay for the bed, mattress and parasol. We have 2 boys, 13 and 10. There are so many rules at the pool, that all they could do was swim, no inflatables, no balls, no jumping, no splashing etc etc..so it was a bit boring for them, and this is the reason we wouldn't book here again. Having never been to Tenerife before, it does feel a bit Brits abroad at first but, the location is great and it does feel very safe. Its also very child friendly and suitable for older travelers to get around as it's flat, everywhere is accessible and there are plenty of electric scooters to hire (70 euros for the week) and the weather at this time of year was amazing!

Flat 229 Parque Santiago 1, rental agent Tenerife Dream Properties. I would advise against renting this apartment: 1. There is a tiny hot water tank in a kitchen cupboard. This means there is only enough hot water for a few minutes in the shower before it runs cold. Then you have to wait 30 to 40 mins for it to heat up. So forget it, especially if 4 people in flat (there are 2 double bedrooms) 2. Despite having been renovated the electricals are awful. Hardly any plug sockets and grubby extension leads everywhere. Reminded me of student rooms in the 1980s. Hardly justifies the high rent being charged for this flat! 3. Very poor, cheap bedding: 1 single duvet for 2 double beds, cheap scratchy sheets and nylon blankets. The beds are lumpy and uncomfortable. 4. No cleaning materials provided, we even had to buy washing up liquid. The hoover was so filthy I had to spend 5 minutes cleaning out all the hair and accumulated dirt from the brush attachment. 5. The ensuite bathroom feels damp and the drum of the washing machine does not turn properly so does not spin the clothes properly. 6. Tenerife Dream Properties to be avoided. No proper quality control checking of the flats they let out and apart from a very small deposit the entire rent has to be paid in cash. Surely illegal as this is income which should be declared to the tax authorities?? One has to go up constantly to their offices to ask for things, hardly relaxing when one is on holiday. The owner Julie is the rudest woman I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. Her hostile and aggressive manner is totally out of order when dealing with paying clients. To be avoided. Rent through another agent/ AirBnB or Booking.com where there is some quality cotrol and channels to provide feedbck.

Parque Santiago 1 is a strange place made up of apartments and air BnB rentals, as a result there are some strict rules and fingers crossed you like dogs as many owners of the apartments have them. The apartment we stayed in was dated and in need of an update, the electrics were lethal. The pool is not child friendly, it's too salty and do not even try to enter the pool with a ball or inflatable or you may be asked to leave, it has very deep end of 2.5 metres but jumping in is not allowed. The owners of the apartments get to the pool as it opens to get their spots around the pool and then proceed to police any fun that may be had. Also the charges to use loungers, cushions and parasols are extortionate, its 2.50 euros for the lounger and 1 euro each for cushion and parasol, it adds up very quickly if you a family of ,4. I gave it 3 stars due to it's excellent location.

Good news first. The fixtures etc in the apartment were the best I`ve seen. Location was perfect and the apartment was spotless Now the bad news The property is described as a 2 bedroom duplex, This is totally misleading . "bedroom 1 does not exist!. It is a double bed sitting on the landing at the top of the stairs, next to the toilet and entrance to what is loosely described as "bedroom" 2. This "bedroom" in fact more of a large cupboard, in a sloping part of the apartment, meaning you cannot stand up in it! The net result of the layout means that when anyone is in the bed on the landing, any other occupants, e.g. from "bedroom2" or coming up from downstairs, needs to walk past the people in bed to got to the toilet for example! The apartment is totally unsuitable, due to the lack of privacy, for any more than a couple
