“October half term sun”

We stayed at Iberostar waves las dalias for a week in Oct half term. 2 adults and 2 children aged 15 and 11. We arrived early and had to wait until 3pm for our rooms but had full access to all the facilities upon arrival. The reception area was very modern and the staff very nice, we were greeted with glasses of cava which was a nice touch. The hotel also has a very nice and well priced shop. The communal hallways were very dated and definitely could do with an upgrade. Rooms We had interconnecting double rooms on level 2 (ground floor). We didnt book a pool view and the balconies overlooked a very busy and noisy main road but given the hotels central location this was the trade off (although I think a higher floor may have been better and less noisy). Upon arrival in one room the bracket for the shower head was broken and you could only have a shower if you held the shower hose. We reported this to reception and it was fixed the same evening but I am suprised this wasn't addressed by the cleaners and that we needed to report it. In the same room the balcony door handle was very temperamental and gave up after a few days so we reported this and it was fixed the same day. The rooms were comfortable and the cleaners came every day and cleaned the rooms to a great standard but they are dated, the furniture/doors etc look a little battered. One wardrobe was a nightmare to open. Pool areas People get up early to get a sunbed and there is no enforcement of people reserving sunbeds and not using them. However the staff would role out more sunbeds if people couldn't get any. In places the sunbeds were very closely packed together. The main pools are all very deep (1.50m) and unfortunately looked dirty, black mould around the grout of the tiles and murky water. It was a bit off putting Food We mainly ate in the buffet restaurant and found all meals excellent, great variety and well cooked. We mostly went for breakfast, lunch and dinner quite early when the restaurant opened and found it quiet with no queues but one evening we went slightly later and it was very different, queues to get in, no clean tables and massive queues for the grill. We left and went back later for a more relaxed experience. The restaurant is very large and if you time it right its a lovely experience. Drinks Lovely selection, self service lager, cava, cokes at the pool bar, good cocktail options. You can ask for bottles of wine for the room. Location Hotel is in the heart of the resort, lots of shops, restaurants and bars. A short pleasant walk to the beach. Entertainment The staff work hard, day and night to entertain everyone. Some of the shows were better than others but all comparative to previous Canary holidays. Overall we enjoyed the holiday and the weather was beautiful. Would we stay again? Yes but I would ask for rooms on a higher floor.

Have just returned from a stay for half term and had to leave a review. We booked this hotel after reading all the amazing reviews previously posted but I honestly think we must have been at a different hotel! Yes the staff are nice, reception, upstairs bar staff and entertainment staff all helpful and pleasant. Check in was very good, but it was only us checking in so not hard! The buffet is ok, not out of this world but good fresh food. Beatles Tribute and the short Halloween show around the pool were the highlights of entertainment, the rest was 'interesting' to say the least. The rooms are tired and need a desperate revamp, so many cockroaches dead and alive. Air conditioning is rubbish, definitely leave the electric on when you're out of the room. Poolside again feels run down and tatty and if you want a sun lounger get down early. I feel none of this is down to the staff in the hotel itself but down to not Iberostar who need to invest heavily into upgrading the place. Not worth the huge amount I paid for 4 nights.

“Hotel was ok but staff (carlos) were great”

Nice hotel although a little busy and rooms could do with a touch up. My boys loved it though and the staff are amazing, they couldnt do enough to help. Carlos in particular was a star and really helped us out.
