Stayed in a room at the back of the hotel with a view of the mountains and new splash pool. On previous visits we have paid extra for a sea/pool view but decided on a change this time, and was pleased with the view. The newly refurbished room was lovely and elegant. Did not hear any noise whilst in the bedroom area, however if in the bathroom, and next door was also in their bathroom, we could hear every word of their conversation! We stayed all inclusive, really pleased with the food. Big choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the buffet restaurant, especially if you like freshly cooked meat, fish, veg, fresh fruit and mini desserts. If prefer burger and chips etc, this was also available at the poolside restaurant table service at lunchtime, and also takeaway options. Happy with the all inclusive drinks selection too. Not too bothered about entertainment, but some of the evening shows were really good, some so-so. All the staff at the hotel, without exception, were welcoming and doing a fantastic job. This hotel has something for everyone, great for families, but also couples with the adult only rooftop pool. I felt different groups were able to do their own thing without annoying each other! The location of the hotel is also great if enjoy walking/not limited mobilty. Down the hill and to the left is a nice coastal walk that takes you to las Américas, and down to the right another coastal walk to la caleta. We also used the bus to go further around the island and this was a good comfortable service. We will definitely be back.

We have just returned from another fantastic weeks stay at this amazing hotel. We arrived exactly a week after the hotel reopened and if we were honest, we were a little nervous that the building works may impact our stay. Due to the ongoing works our favourite room was unavailable and we were placed in room 291. The room was lovely and over looked the pool. The room decoration is fantastic and the bathrooms are gorgeous. The refurbishment really appears to be of a very high standard. As ever, all the staff from reception, catering, porters, cleaners and maintenance were so friendly and never missed an opportunity to say hello. My husband unfortunately left his hand luggage on the coach transfer and all staff we spoke to were so kind helping us to retrieve it. Our room was kept spotlessly clean all week with a daily supply of fresh towels and a chocolate on the pillow every night. Apart from a very small amount of occasional building noise whilst up at the adults pool we were largely unaware of anything going on. The staff had clearly worked very hard to keep disruption to a minimum. We had a minor issue with loss of lighting one evening and we were very impressed with how quickly someone was sent to our room and the issue was resolved within minutes. We stayed half board. Breakfast was as ever incredible and the evening or lunch options provided lots of choice. One night after eating out we literally just went in for our desserts. Just a very minor point. We did notice that the corridor and room number lights were only on in the evenings but if you go down to breakfast when the restaurant opens it is still dark and the corridors would have benefited from lighting in the morning also. Well done GF Gran Costa Adeje. We can’t imagine ever staying anywhere else (in fact we are already booked to come in July).

💛 My Honest Thoughts on the Reopening of the GF Gran Costa Adeje 💛 Well… what a week! After ten long months of waiting (and counting down like a kid at Christmas), walking back through those hotel doors on October 10th honestly felt like coming home. It wasn’t just a hotel reopening; it felt like a celebration, a reunion, and a proper “we made it” moment all rolled into one. The last time I’d stood in that foyer was the day the hotel closed, it was silent, still, and strangely sad. To stand there again, surrounded by laughter, chatter, and life pouring back into every corner, was something really special. I stayed there for ages, chatting, hugging, laughing with so many staff members and returning guests, and it was honestly the sweetest, 'welcome home' I could have asked for. The Rooms I’ll be honest, I was nervous about the changes. I had such a soft spot for the old rooms. They were cosy, comfy, yes a little dated, but full of character. Somehow, the GF team have pulled off the impossible: they’ve made the rooms completely modern without losing that Gran feeling we all love. They’re bright, fresh, and beautiful. The new mood lighting is very smart and clever . There is a day, relax, and night mode, and I'm not ashamed to admit my first night was like a disco while I figured it all out. Once I got the hang of it, I loved it. The new bathrooms are absolutely stunning. So fresh and stylish that I can barely remember what the old ones look like. Gone are the bath-and-shower combos, not a bidet insight; now it’s all sleek tiling, modern lighting, and a heavenly rainfall shower that makes you never want to get out. A little tip though, put the bathmat at the showers opening to stop water running out! I am pleased to report there are now plugs and USB/USC ports on each side of the bed, which is a massive win. The old rooms desperately needed that. So there’s no need now to pack a multi-plug extension thingy. Ohhh and how quiet the rooms are now!! Don’t hear a peak from anywhere ! Now, I’ve only got two little gripes about the new rooms: I wish there was a plug near the mirror for doing hair and makeup. I had to use the one in the bathroom, which wasn’t ideal. Maybe a freestanding mirror on the desk would fix that. And the dressing gowns!! They are the same old ones! Scratchy, scruffy and tiny. Everything else in the room is brand new, so they really let it down, new fluffy robes would give it an extra touch of luxury. I know these are small things, but a little honest feedback never hurts, those two tiny touches would take the rooms from great to truly perfect. Before the refurb, the balcony lights used to switch off automatically at night. I think staff assumed the new ones were still on the same timer, but when guests started mentioning it, reception didn’t realise they were staying on until they rang someone to check. After a few days, some guests noticed the lights had started turning off again at a certain time, so it looks like the team had taken on board this observation, so its always worth speaking to reception if something’s not right. ❄️ Air Con & Wi-Fi There’s been a lot of chat about the air-con, so here’s my experience: ours worked perfectly. Sometimes too perfectly. I woke up freezing a few times and had to dig the big blanket out of the wardrobe. ours did make the occasional knocking sound, but either maintenance fixed it or it stopped itself, but after a day it was silent and working brilliantly. It’s a huge upgrade and once they’ve sorted the few teething problems, I think everyone will be happy. Can’t really comment on the Wi-Fi, I never use it, I just use my data. However, I did hear there were a few glitches early on (even for staff). Hopefully those kinks are sorted now. 🎭 Entertainment & Facilities When I first heard the stage was moving, I thought, “Oh no, why mess with perfection?” Well… I take it back! The new stage is fantastic. The screen behind it adds so much to the shows and it just works. The new kids’ and teen zones are brilliant too. I think the teen area could do with a few more fun bits, like an air hockey table and a punch bag machine would be great, but even as it is, it’s a fab upgrade. And my absolute favourite part of the refurb? The brand new splash pool at the back. Oh my goodness, it’s amazing! There are two big slides, for teens an 'big kids' and a smaller splash area complete with slides. It’s such a clever use of space that was never really used before. A few times I got a little gang together to go on the slides, one man thanked me afterwards and said he was 70 but for those few minutes he felt like a boy again. Another time, I witnessed an 80-year-old running back up the steps shouting, “Just one more go!” AMAZING!! GF Gran splash pool, were adults feel like kids again! It’s closed off in the evenings, so don’t worry about noise if you have a mountain view. 🍽️ Food & Staff The food was as lovely as always, maybe a slightly smaller selection than usual, but that’s probably just because the hotel isn’t running at full capacity yet. Everything we had was delicious. Pool bar food was gorgeous as well, the new alioli (not areola, as I kept asking for 🥴) and bread is chefs kiss! Now, the staff. Where do I even start? Every single one of them deserves a medal. Reception, bar, restaurant, cleaning, maintenance, everyone was smiling, saying hello, and doing their absolute best. All our favourite faces are still there (you know who you are), and honestly, it felt like the A-Team were back together. ⚡ The First Few Days Okay, let’s be real. I promised I will always be honest. Please remember this is MY experience. The first 24 hours were a bit chaotic. My heart sank when the water was brown and cold in every room, a couple of short power cuts, a few tech hiccups. Not ideal, especially for guests who’d been travelling all day and just wanted a hot shower and settle in. Within 24 hours, the water was running hot and clear again, power cuts were less as well, and the wifi seems to pop in an out. I do have to say though, there were three men, I called them the boffins, they wandered round the hotel for the first few days with their laptops, and when they appeared, usually at the pool bar when it got busy or at the main bar at happy hour, everything seemed to go wrong. Like they were messing with settings, which messed with the staff and made their job harder to do. I wanted to tell them to stop it! come when its quiet, not at the busy times, as it reflects bad on a team that usually know the dance steps to their job perfectly. I really did feel for the staff during these problems. You could see they just wanted us, their guests to be happy and to look after us like they always have, but the little hand held devices kept stopping them whenever, 'the boffins' where around. The air-con problems took a little longer to sort, and I completely understand why some of the returning loyal guests felt upset. After waiting so long and loving this place for years, it’s natural that a few people felt their loyalty was being overlooked. I truly felt for them. What broke my heart was seeing how much the staff were trying. They were under pressure, learning new systems, juggling everything, and still smiling. For the first few days, I could feel their stress, not from anything they said or did wrong, but just because I know them, and I could tell they wanted everything to be perfect for us. It was hard seeing some of our favourite people looking worried when all they’ve ever done is shine. But around day 5 or 6, you could feel the shift. Things settled, the smiles came back, and it was like the Gran found her rhythm again. That magic we all talk about really did wake up. 💛 Final Thoughts So, was everything perfect? No. But did it feel like coming home? ABSOLUTLY! This hotel has something special. A soul, a heart, a warmth that you just can’t fake. The refurb is stunning, the upgrades are smart, but what makes the GF Gran Costa Adeje so special will always be the people inside it. To the whole team , thank you for the smiles, the hugs, the hard work, and for giving us back our home in Tenerife. I can't wait to return. I can't wait to see everyone's future posts on here. I can't wait for others to walk through the hotels doors and feel like they are, 'home’ 🩷
