Once again GF Fanabe proved to be as good as ever. We stayed for 3 weeks Nov/December and enjoyed every meal (we were half board), this year the food seemed to be hotter than ever I don’t know if they’ve got some new system to keep the food hot, if so it really did work. I’ve seen many reviews that comment on the quality of the staff and I certainly endorse the positive comments, they have it right in every department. Every year we seem to see many people who have been many times to this hotel as we have so they must be getting a lot right. Location is great you can walk right to get to the quieter El Duque area or left down towards Fanabe/Puerto Colon. We have already booked again for next year.

Have just returned from a 7 night stay over the Xmas period. We will try and keep this review balanced and focus on various areas. We stayed here in 2023 but have noticed some negative changes this time round. Check In.. smooth with no problems and we were greeted by very pleasant staff. However, we were surprised they have not updated their booking in system in the dining room. You are given a small paper ticket with your name, room number, and dates of stay which they ask you to present to staff when dining. Room.. Very spacious..the bed was massive and extremely comfortable!!.. Bathroom with powerful shower over the bath. Lots of storage space. TV.. fridge but no coffee making facilities which you would expect but we were furnished with a very small kettle when we asked for one.... We were in room 333 and overlooked the reception area and, unfortunately, GF Isabel across the road. This hotel has very loud karaoke every night. On our first night the noise was ridiculous and it didn't go quiet until 1am. However, on subsequent nights it stopped at midnight but you can be left with residual drunken individuals making a nuisance of themselves. Safety deposit box charge was included but we had to request a key to access it. Food..we stayed on an all inclusive basis and the main dining room hasn't changed in that it can be rather noisy at times with children running around but you could get away from this by dining in the conservatory area. We noticed a distinct reduction in the variety of food available and it was not replenished as quickly as it should have been at times. However, we had no complaints surrounding the quality of the food. Location.. ideal..6 minutes walk to a beach and local bars which were good and had entertainment each night. There was in house entertainment each night which guests seemed to enjoy even if it wasn't to our taste on occasions. There is a roof top adult only sun terrace which is a God send if, like us, you are travelling as a couple although some families seem to conveniently not see the adults only signs. It is possibly something which needs more assertive policing. Overall..we feel it needs to update it's I.T. issues and become paperless. The Air Conditioning is rather ancient and needs addressing. It's a dial on the wall. However, we didn't need to use it due to the time of year we visited. Maid service is excellent and staff very friendly. We will not be staying again as we feel there are more modern all inclusive hotels to choose from.

We had a family bereavement last Christmas so decided to get away this year and take my daughter and her fiancee with us. We have been several times to the GF Gran but this time we chose the Fanabe as we thought it would be very similar.. It was very much a mistake and we wouldn't return. It seems to be very popular with return customers but It wasn't for us. It's very tired and much in need of a refurb. We were put on the 'dark side' facing the walls of the property opposite and above the bins and I assume the kitchen entrance. Very noisy early in the mornings. We also had kids rampaging the corridors knocking our doors. It would make more sense to put adults on the higher floors and families on the lower ones but I assumed the place was full so didn't ask for a move. Our door lock to the balcony was broken and tv was faulty and this was rectified quickly. The biggest issue for us was the bed reserving. You had to be up on the roof terrace at 9 or forget it. We went B&B and had breakfast the first morning. Go early or the cooked stuff is mostly cold. My husband and myself were wiped out with a stomach upset after that but it might just have been a coincidence. I've heard a refurb is planned for next year and it's certainly much needed. On the other hand, the staff are nice and the housekeeping staff put a nice little Christmas present in the room. It was my husband's birthday and a Happy Birthday message was written on the mirror and they left some beer and little snacks which was lovely.

“DONT EAT THE FOOD!”

We are here now! Great location, Rooms spacious and clean. Most of the staff were friendly and polite. The food was absolutely disgusting, and I’m not particularly a picky eater. We are here now! Great location, Rooms spacious and clean. Most of the staff were friendly and polite. The food was absolutely disgusting, and I’m not particularly a picky eater. There was minimal choice, and lacked variation. Handled utensils left inside food, rendering it impossible to eat. The staff had to be prompted to fill the containers up, as most of the time they were left empty. A lot of the time they put fruit out but it was impossible to eat because it hadn’t been allowed to thaw out long enough, it was still frozen. The worst part was finding a plastic bag in my soup, I was horrified. Great place to stay on a budget, JUST DONT EAT THE FOOD!
