The staff in this hotel are so nice and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and look after you. Reception were helpful and knowledgeable, the waiting staff excellent, the lobby bar staff so friendly and the guys around the pool were equally as good. Food was so much better that I was expecting with amazing fresh bread and an Egyptian inspired menu along with the usual burgers and chips for those not very adventurous. Rooms are comfortable and well looked after. Pools lovely with comfy sunbeds.

This is a 4* hotel. If you are looking for a 5* hotel then please do not be swayed by the glowing reviews as you will be disappointed. A few key points ( for me ): *The hotel is beautifully laid out with attractive, well tended grounds and always spotlessly clean. *The room, ideal for families ( I had a top floor 1 bedroom apartment with pool view, 4207 ) was spacious, nicely decorated, with a huge balcony , kitchenette and the large bathroom, which could have benefitted from a little tlc had a walk in shower. *Disappointingly I found the main restaurant quite dated and drab in its decor with no outside dining space and steps to a lower buffet area which was not ideal. Food was "ok", you won't starve. *There are several a la carte restaurants but I have NEVER been to an all inclusive that limits you to visit only 1 during your stay ??? I have experienced not being able to get booked into any of the a la cartes on offer but not being restricted to picking just one !! * Those with teens, beware, the WIFI is a bit of a shocker. Unable to connect in some areas at all and in and out every couple of minutes in others. We found the only best continuous connection was in our room. Now then, onto the important stuff. This hotel has singularly THE BEST staff I have ever come across. I am a regular of mainstream chain 4/5* all inclusives, including previous trips to the Red Sea but I have never been more impressed by the standard of service. Without exception staff will go the extra mile to ensure you have want you want with a smile on their face and a laugh and a joke. Tipping is, of course welcome but not expected - a little, often, is more than appreciated. Similarly the entertainment team were also exceptional !! So, in summary, as long as your expectations are realistic then this hotel cannot fail to please.

My experience at this hotel was positive. Initial greeting on arrival was excellent and our needs met when requested, as our room was not suitable. They were quick at sorting the problem and for that we were truly grateful. Comfortable beds 🛌 although air conditioning can be quite noisy. Facilities in room for tea and coffee was a bonus as sometimes you'd rather relax in the room. Cleanliness of the room was excellent and cleaned every day, and it was also good to have the same person as we built a good relationship. Having 2 restaurants was good until the Sunflower restaurant had to close which was a shame, as it was nice to have options. When restaurant was closed there was a pool side kitchen, with burgers and fries, pizza, waffles🧇 and pancakes 🥞 were available. In regards to restaurant foods, it was a little hit and miss for me as I don't eat meat, but I didn't go hungry and if you politely ask the chef for something, they would accommodate if they can. The Sushi was lovely, and salmon grilled to my liking, the range of salads, breads, desserts, and fruit were very good with the strawberries 🍓 being my favourite. Breakfast choice was also good and I loved how they had a good choice of milks which can be a problem for me as a lot of hotels only have whole cows milk, so excellent job in that area. Pool areas were good and great to have a quiet pool without screaming children, however the warmer pool was at the more active pool where animation team were. My reason for not an excellent score was the bar drinks. This unfortunately was disappointing and cocktails did not taste good snd I would never finish them, the beer was not the best quality, I do understand house drinks are not of the best quality, however this is my 1st holiday (and I have been on many), where drinks did not meet my expectations. It was lucky for me I did purchase alcohol from duty free, which I tend to do every trip, but I normally go home with virtually an empty bottle from 1 litre. Apart from this I had a lovely stay with lovely staff. The Makadi resort was amazing as I took walks around the complex. The gardens are stunning with the gardeners doing a fantastic job keeping it clean colourful and vibrant well done guys. Also it is worth having a spa treatment. Excellent!
